Don't blame tax cuts for rising inequality

(Cross-posted at the Locker Room):

At the Truth on the Market blog, Todd Henderson of the University of Chicago Law School (no relation) looks at data published recently on Slate.com showing rising income inequality.

While ducking the debate over whether such stratification is a good or bad thing, Henderson notes that… Continue

"Ask Not Whether Governments Will Default, But How"

A new report from Morgan Stanley. As Veronique de Rugy says, read it and weep.

Whose income is it, anyway?

Cribbing from Red State, here was Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., on the Senate floor yesterday, referring to those Republicans (and Democrats, I presume) who supported the tax cuts of 2001 and 2003:

Those who cried the loudest on the floor of the Senate these days -- right now -- are the very ones that voted to reduce this country's income with the biggest benefits going to the wealthiest Americans.

Hey Rick,

I found out today that Cooper got accepted to the music dept at Ft Lewis, and will get some sort of scholarship. Yay! I'll go out there probably around 7/1 to help him drive back here. Woohoo. Driving across the heartland in the summer--fun. Oh well, a little mom and son bonding time. I talked to Bryan S. for a while the other night. GOod to talk to him and catch up. Hi to Cara also!

You should be able to simply grab the HTML from a monkey post and drop it in the text field of a Freedom Pub post. Be sure to hit the "HTML" button, though, before dropping it in.

Hey, Rick. Get a cool looking photo up there, if it's possible for you to have a cool photo.

Also, if you're itching to blog about something — perhaps something you'd like to put on Infinite Monkeys, but can't — you can put it on here. I'm curious as to how it works for people outside the Heartland family.
