American Indians in America

So I got to thinking this week about immigration and the illegal aliens that keep coming in. I got into a discussion with a dear friend about the American Indians and how we Americans were illegal here as the American Indians were here first. That they were subjugated and forced onto reservations and not allowed to leave and live anywhere else at all. While…

Exelon fiddles with ineffective solar power, yet is willing to waste 2,100 megawatts of power with its dual Zion Nuclear Plant!

Unbelievable that Exelon should be investing in solar power, when it wants to waste its Dual 2,100 Megawatt Nuclear Plant at Zion!

60 million for 10 Megawatts -- or $6 million per megawatt of unreliable power – versus about $2 million per megawatt of reliable nuclear power if Zion were restarted.

Solar energy is very expensive, and I suspect customers will be forced to pay the price and EXC will either come out even or make a profit on it. It is all window dressing by Exelon… Continue

Is Google President Obama's Halliburton?

I'm not prone to spreading conspiracy theories, but the recent story referenced in the post title does have a bit of .... shall we say ... schadenfreude. I must admit I cringed whenever the previous administration, esp. V.P. Cheney, consistently was linked to Halliburton in a sinister fashion. Whatever. There's a lot to be said for privatization of services that can be performed better and less expensively than government bureaucrats as Halliburton proved. But it was almost as easy as…

Lib Blogger: Michael Mann 'Reaps What He Sows'

That journ-uh-list (and global warming believer) would be Gregg Easterbrook, blogging for Reuters, in a longer post that for the most part is an eulogy to the recently passed Stephen Schneider. As might be expected he remembers Schneider for qualities that were largely undetected by skeptics, and he blathers…

A piggyback on Benjamin's excellent journolist post

You can read Benjamin's blog post here: http://www.freedompub.org/profiles/blogs/on-journolist-and-bias. It's concise and certainly to the point. It's a bit alarming (though it probably shouldn't be) that people are so shamelessly biased. But I have a slightly different take on the journolist euphoria surrounding President Obama's victory. Tell me if I'm way off… Continue

Gathering No Moss, Just Loss

With a climate bill dead (until it's not again), Rolling Stone's Tim Dickinson is grieving:

Once again, however, the administration applied the same backroom approach it took to health care reform. Instead of waging a public debate to pit the American people against the corporate polluters, Obama gave…

Arizona's Immigration Bill

So in light of the lawsuit against the new Arizona immigration bill I decided to post here the bill in full (something many protesters have not read) and let you see just what it really is all about:

Whose income is it, anyway?

Cribbing from Red State, here was Sen. Byron Dorgan, D-N.D., on the Senate floor yesterday, referring to those Republicans (and Democrats, I presume) who supported the tax cuts of 2001 and 2003:

Those who cried the loudest on the floor of the Senate these days -- right now -- are the very ones that voted to reduce this country's income with the biggest benefits going to the wealthiest Americans.

Discuss.

The Path to Perdition

excerpted from Casey's Daily Dispatch

In Orwell’s 1984, it was the job of the Thought Police to ferret out miscreants whose thinking and actions ran contrary to the dictates of the all-controlling state.

While things haven’t quite degraded to that point yet, even a casual glance at the news confirms that we’re well on the way. The first,…

Tea Party Caucus led by Texans

Texans are the largest contingent in the new Teas Party congressional caucus, with John Culberson, John Carter, Pete Sessions, Lamar Smith, Joe Barton, Michael Burgess and Louie Gohmert signed up so far. That is why everything is bigger and better in the Lone Star state!

On Journolist and Bias

The series of Daily Caller reports on the Journolist -- culled from the archives of the secretive email list which paired liberal academics, bloggers and think tank members with the mainstream media -- has not included many surprises for those who view any semblance of fairness or unbiased observation as the calling of the media as an unconvincing myth. So long and good riddance -- in a world where only… Continue

Washington State's Climate Exec Order Challenged

Today the Evergreen Freedom Foundation's Constitutional Law Center announced they would, on behalf of Washington State taxpayers, sue Democrat Gov. Obama Continues Bush's Quest for an Energy Efficient and Independent Air Force
