A wise child

Like many of you I am a parent. This evening at dinner my 17 year old daughter (who is not very political yet) asked me what was the difference between liberal democrats and conservative republicans. This was unusual coming from her, but I was very excited in her interest. So I started to explain to her about spreading the wealth, taxation, obamacare, government overreach, and the need for a strong military. I also showed her my pay stub, her jaw almost hit the floor. After about a half hour discussion I ended by saying, "this is how people align themselves with a political party." After listening attentively, what came out of her mouth next filled me with hope, she said, "dad, it only seems reasonable to be a conservative republican." I assure you there will be many more discussions after tonight.
