But wait, there's more: The Boykoff / Gelbspan circle in the con-senseless global warming media coverage
In my previous blog, I talked about the tie back from the graphic cited at SkepticalScience.com to Ross Gelbspan, the anti-skeptic scientist book author. And now, for something completely predictable, circular references between the Boykoff brothers and Gelbspan.
In Max & Jules Boykoff's 'peer reviewed' 2004 paper "Balance as Bias: Global Warming and the U.S. Prestige Press" (PDF file here), they directly cite Gelbspan's 1998 The Heat is On paperback edition on several occasions (the first on pg 3 of the PDF is a specific quote about undeserved balance in the media) and they thank him nicely in their acknowledgments section.
Gelbspan in turn cites the Boykoffs in several places in his 2005 Boiling Point, starting here, to illustrate the media giving undeserved balance to skeptic scientists.
One has to wonder how either Gelbspan or the Boykoffs would have been able to prove the so-called 'undeserved balance' in the mainstream media without the existence of each other..............
