Do EPA Regulations Work For You

WIth Cap and trade looming, I decided to look at when the EPA became so powerful. Let me say up front that I am for clean air and clean water. But whenever I see the letters EPA, I cringe. I don't think they care about the Environment or are there to protect me. There was a celebration for the "Clean Air Act" this week. Attendees at the meeting included Attorney General Eric Holder, Department of Justice; Secretary Ken Salazar, Department of Interior; Secretary Shaun Donovan, Department of Housing and Urban Development; Secretary Ray LaHood, Department of Transportation; Administrator Martha Johnson, General Services Administration; Carol Browner, senior advisor to the president on energy and climate change; John Holdren, director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy; Melody Barnes, director of the White House Office of Domestic Policy. What are they celebrating? Or a better the question: Who is Environmentally Protecting me? None of the people listed above I trust to protect my interests. Especially Ken Salazar. He did his best to destroy the Colorado economy. Eric Holder doesn't care about you unless you are a minority involved in a voter intimidation dispute, Carol Browner doesn't represent me on any issue. Well I could list the reason for every one of these individuals, but I digress. They are celebrating the act that gave them power to do the following:

• reducing outdoor, or ambient, concentrations of air pollutants that cause smog, haze, acid rain, and other problems;
• reducing emissions of toxic air pollutants that are known to, or are suspected of, causing cancer or other serious health effects; and
• phasing out production and use of chemicals that destroy stratospheric ozone.

These pollutants come from stationary sources (like chemical plants, gas stations, and powerplants) and mobile sources (like cars, trucks, and planes). (EPA.gov)
You got to love the ambiguous wording. "and other problems". What are those other problems EPA? Humans perhaps. What does a new dishwasher, a 1.6 gpf toilet, light bulbs, a different way to clean ourselves, telling us to take a 3 minute shower, interfering with general contractors to do business, have to do with clean air and clean water? The EPA would rather force us to use a light bulb that has a high concentration of Mercury in them then to just leave us alone. I'm sorry, didn't I read somewhere that you wanted to save the salmon from mercury in the water? The toilet you forced on us has to be flushed 3 times in order for the clean water to appear. That is 4.8 gpf vs the 3.5 gpf that you took away. And a big proponent of curbing pollution (global warming) also said that if we stop everything we are doing for the next 50 years it will have no effect of the environment. So what is the end game? Cap and Trade.
I define Cap and Trade this way: The big, bad, evil insensitive industries in the United States have a limit on the amount of made up damage that they are allowed to do. So the compassionate, always looking out for the best interest of the people, all knowing government sets that limit. Now if the industry wants to continue to employ people and make enough money to supply a livable wage and health care to its employees, it must buy (get taxed) made up, imaginary carbon credits from companies that produce under the alloted limit. I suspect in poorer nations, or owned by Al Gore. Who has been estimated to make Billions off of Cap and Trade (greenhellblog.com) Then the poorer nations receive the money (with a percentage going to the Fed as a fee (tax) of some sort). And the company resumes business as usual. Well except for fact it must produce more to maintain its goal of 8% (arbitrary number) profit margin to appease the stock holders. Is that clear?
I am not going to go into the whole "connect-the-dots" theory on who is involved in this scheme. That has already been done. It is my opinion the the EPA is a bureaucratic arm in all of this and 30 years ago the congress gave this unelected body the power to determine what is a pollutant and what isn't. And they have determined that the air you exhale is a pollutant. These eggheads have confused Carbon MONoxide with Carbon DIoxide.
My point is this if you want your electricity bills to "necessarily" skyrocket". Vote Democrat. If you want Pelosi to remain speaker of the house. Vote Democrat. If you want redistribution of your wealth to go to other countries under the banner of "Save the Planet" Vote Democrat. ADD moment: It just occurred to me that the libs that support this kind of tyranny are saying that the evil, profit-motivated corporations in this country are forcing jobs overseas all for a buck. I say to them, in relation to Cap and Trade, aren't you doing the same thing?
